You need a second stew by the weekend, you are between guest trips, and the last thing you want is a form with fifteen fields. So you type the position into WhatsApp instead, and hope it finds the right person.
Send the position to [email protected] from the email address on your Crew HQ account. Write it as you would in a message: the role, the boat, where she is, when you need someone, what you are offering. If the position already exists somewhere, as a note from management, a message from the owner's office, a crew agency circular you have been asked to pass on, forward it as it is.
The Crew HQ assistant lays it out as a job advert on your account. You do not have to format anything, choose categories or remember a password. The first time you send one, Crew HQ emails you to confirm it is you. After that your jobs go live when you send them.
It is free on every membership. There is no posting fee and no commission.
Your advert sits on the jobs page at https://www.crewhq.me/jobs, where crew and anyone looking at who is hiring can read it. Crew who are interested reach you with their profile, CV and references attached, rather than a bare message asking for details you have already written down.
Crew HQ also emails members whose profile matches a job that has been posted, at most one a week, and only while their profile is active and set to looking for work. So the advert does some walking of its own.
If you would rather fill in the fields yourself, the form is still there at https://www.crewhq.me/node/add/job-posting. Both routes produce the same advert.
Crew HQ is not a crew agency. Captains and recruiters search crew and contact them directly, which means an advert is only one way in. Professional Membership, at £150 a year or £25 a month, lets you view every crew profile in full, download CVs and references, contact crew directly, shortlist crew and ask whether they are available, and manage your job adverts and applicants. The memberships are set out side by side at https://www.crewhq.me/membership.
Nothing stops you doing both: post the job by email in two minutes, then search crew while you wait.
Open a new email from the address on your Crew HQ account. Write the position, or forward the one you already have, and send it to [email protected]. Watch for the confirmation email the first time, press the button, and the advert goes up.
If you do not have an account yet, register free at https://www.crewhq.me/user/register, then send the job from that same address. Anything that does not look right, or does not arrive, write to [email protected] and a person will reply by email.
