About the ENG1
The ENG1 is the UK seafarer medical fitness certificate. The MCA requires any seafarer working on a merchant vessel to hold one, or an accepted equivalent, and it is needed for any UK certificate of competency. Take photo identification with you: the doctor has to check it at the examination.
