The Bahamas Maritime Authority (BMA) is the maritime administration responsible for Bahamas-flagged vessel registration, covering passenger, dry bulk, container, tanker, LNG/LPG, offshore, RoRo and yacht sectors. It provides a yacht registration service for private and charter yachts of 20 metres and above, as well as passenger yachts, alongside seafarer manning, inspections and surveys, and investigation of marine casualties involving Bahamas-registered vessels. The BMA approves STCW training providers and operates an online registration system called BORIS. It is headquartered in London.
