Crew HQ has spent more than ten years helping crew find work and helping yachts find crew. Today we are adding something our members have asked about for nearly as long: a proper way to rent out a property or a boat.
We have partnered with Airflow, a booking platform for short-term rentals, crew accommodation and boat hire. Crew HQ members can use it to take bookings, be paid directly and keep their accounts straight, and those who do will be rewarded on Crew HQ.
Yachting careers rarely stay on the water for ever. Many of the crew who joined Crew HQ in its first years now own a flat they let between rotations, manage a crew house, or have come ashore to run a charter or a guest house. The questions we receive have changed with them. Fewer are about CVs. More are about double bookings, chasing deposits and what to hand the accountant in January.
Those are booking problems, and Airflow was built to solve them.
Airflow collects your bookings from Airbnb, Booking.com and the other platforms alongside the ones you take yourself, gives you a direct booking website with payment into your own account, blocks dates across calendars, opens a portal for each guest, and turns every booking into a draft invoice in your accounting software. It handles boats and day charters the same way it handles rooms.
You are still part of this community, and this is as much for you as for anyone. If you, a friend or a relative lets a property, Airflow will take the admin off your hands, and Crew HQ can put it in front of a community of people who travel for a living.
