New Yachting Course Launches in London

Calling all yachties looking to expand their knowledge pool and skillset. Blue Lamp Afloat has plans to introduce the Tender Operator Course to their training program as of May this year.

Founder of the London based training centre, Colin Trowels, is excited to provide crew members and yacht enthusiasts with the new RYA course. “We pride ourselves in providing an excellent syllabus using kit, tools and boats that are superior to our competitors.”

Blue Lamp Afloat will be one of the only training centres in London that will be teaching the course.

The recent addition to the RYA course was introduced in 2014 at the Monaco Yacht Show. There was a growing desire within the SuperYacht industry to develop the specialised course, designed to train entry-level crew members.

The Tender Operator Course Blue Lamp Afloat will soon offer covers a number of fundamentals including; twin engine maneuvers, docking in unfavourable conditions, man overboard procedure (day and night), as well as night navigation. The Course can be completed in two days and is available to interested parties 17 years and older.

“We aren’t a factory,” Trowels says when explaining what sets Blue Lamp Afloat apart from other training courses in the yacht industry. “We have a small selection of great instructors who will make those training with us feel well taken care of.”

The client-focussed training centre is conveniently located at the St Katherine Docks on the North Side of the Thames river, giving clients full access to hands-on learning.

The Tender Operator Course costs £345 p/p. If you book as a group of 3 the total discounted price of £999 is offered to you.
